Raised Garden in the Works

I have been begging Jeff to build me a raised garden. I do not have much of a green thumb, but the idea intrigues me and I would love to see if it is as easy as people say. I love the idea of fresh tomatoes and the idea of growing my own cucumbers...if I can. So this Saturday it took him one hour to quickly put the boards together for me. The best part of this picture is that the boys had to be all over the Jeff the entire time he was building it. It probably would have taken him half the time, but the boys really wanted to "help" him. It still makes me laugh the way you have to budget your time differently when kids are "helping." This is the finished product with the boys and our cousin in it. We moved it to the correct place in the yard, stained it and put down some wire to stop rodents from digging up beneath the plants and eating them. I am so excited to get started. My next step is to fill it with good soil, but for now we are calling it the sand box because for the last week it has been the only place the boys want to play in the backyard. So funny that placing wood boards in a rectangle suddenly creates the most fun place in the yard to drive trucks, dirt bikes and build sand structures.
